FIRST OF ALL, I would like to thank readers for their interest in my personal research. I have been involved in this field for over 30 years, and I always learn something new with each new investigation I conduct. A little about me: I am an independent researcher involved in UFOs and the paranormal field in general, and I live in Colorado. I manage the website UFOnet.com and am the Deputy Director of Research for MUFON International on animal mutilations. I have over 30 years of research and experience in this field, and I specialize in investigations of animal mutilations, UFO sightings, Bigfoot, the 1947 Roswell incident, as well as other cases involving the paranormal field.
Today, I am self-employed, and I work as a Design Engineering Consultant for high-tech semiconductor companies in the USA. Why do I manage a website called “UFOnut.com”? (note: in English, the word nut, apart from walnut, also means “crazy” - “someone who has lost it”). Because, years ago, when the adventures and searches regarding the UFO issue began, some people thought I was crazy, that I had lost it about all this… And instead of doing them a favor and getting angry, I thought of taking a stand. Thus, UFOnut.com (Unconventional Flying Objects Nonhuman Unidentifiable Technologies) was born.

I will answer by combining the first question with the second. The theory of the 37th Parallel is not new—many researchers have observed interesting anomalies occurring along this zone. For me, it began a long time ago, with my earliest research. I was searching for something unique. As in all my investigations, I look for patterns or common points among all these phenomena—not only regarding animal mutilations but also concerning everything related to UFOs. In 2011, while working on the lecture I would present at the Midwest UFO Conference, I began noticing significant similarities not only in my own mutilation investigations but in others as well. Then, when a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the southeastern corner of Colorado, where animal mutilations had previously been reported, and fifteen hours later another earthquake struck central Virginia along the East Coast, where UFO sightings had occurred, well… that seemed like more than coincidence to me.
After conducting more extensive research, I discovered that both earthquakes shared the same latitude, and that both occurred at depths of less than 6.5 kilometers. Shallow earthquakes usually occur at depths between 0 and 70 kilometers, but typically not as shallow as 6.5 kilometers. So what was going on here? Were these earthquakes related to drilling operations for shale oil extraction, or were they connected to underground excavations for the creation of subterranean bases? What was happening? I began researching manifestations and reports related to UFOs, animal mutilation cases, underground bases, shelters, and spiritual power sites recognized by Native American traditions along the 37th Parallel. I began to see a pattern among all these elements. My theory regarding the 37th Parallel does not claim that all such events occur along this imaginary line, but rather that it functions like a “paranormal highway.” As we all know, a country has many highways, but one or two tend to be used more heavily than the others.
Mr. Zhukovsky, because not everyone in Greece has access to pay television, some people watched a documentary on the Discovery Channel about cattle mutilations and your theory presented through it regarding the 37th Parallel. What was it that piqued the interest of the documentary producers and made them want to deal with this issue?

In my view, the 37th Parallel functions like the central lane of a highway, with its boundaries extending slightly beyond the 36th and 38th parallels—like a major toll highway with entrances and exits. Could there be underground entry points used by UFOs to appear and disappear just as suddenly along this imaginary highway? We know they are here, but where do they go when they vanish? Perhaps they enter somewhere underground rather than returning to space. Native American traditions have spoken for centuries about beings emerging from beneath the earth, and perhaps it is time we began to give some consideration to what they have been saying.
In 2013, on the Science Channel program The Unexplained Files, I presented a very brief introduction to my theory. When the channel approved a second season of the show, the producers asked me for more information. When I declined their proposal, explaining that my material was based on real investigations, locations, events, and geographic coordinates, they decided to give me the time of a full one-hour episode to explore my theory. That episode, titled America’s Paranormal Highway, aired in September 2014. It held the top ratings position for several weeks and then remained in second place afterward.
Without my knowledge, an American film producer named Beau Flynn, owner of the Beau Flynn Picture Company located just outside West Hollywood, saw the episode and became fascinated. He began reading about my research through blogs and my website and grew increasingly interested. His production company contacted me as well as the prolific author Ben Mezrich—according to The New York Times—to write a short screenplay based on my investigations with the aim of turning it into a film. The proposed script was later acquired by New Line Cinema, which belongs to Warner Bros. Ben Mezrich was equally captivated and decided to use his writing skills not only for the screenplay but also to write a full book about me and my adventures. The book, titled The 37th Parallel, was scheduled for release on September 6, 2016, by the publishing house Simon & Schuster. Meanwhile, the film studio continues to move forward with its project, which is now based on the book.
In recent decades, while many researchers have been studying cattle mutilations, they have not observed the geographic frequency of the incidents, which they should have. What made you notice that, in the majority of cases, these incidents were discovered in places located on the 37th Parallel?

I haven't seen the "Men in Black," but I have felt, from time to time, that I am being watched by some Federal agents. A couple of times I have received phone calls, in which I am invited to answer some specific questions about some of my investigations, and I very happily provide the information they are looking for. In conducting my investigations, when I am asked to help them with something, I have no problem giving some information as they are conducting theirs. They have never tried to stop me, but I don't intrude on their turf either. I like to play fair and cooperate.
People who observe such remarkable incidents are usually visited by groups of people, such as the "Men in Black" (MIB) as they are called. Have you experienced something similar?

I am probably among the few researchers who believe that my government is not responsible for these mutilations, and the reason is this: there have been no human incidents connected to these events. Since 1967, when the first animal mutilation case was reported in the media—concerning a horse known as Snippy (although its actual name was Lady), about twenty kilometers northwest of Alamosa, Colorado—there have been an estimated ten thousand mutilation cases reported across the United States. In all these cases investigated by various agencies, no human case has been confirmed so far. Although these agencies lack definitive evidence, they attribute the killing of the animals to human actions, classifying the mutilations as acts of cruelty. However, since 1967, no individual has been arrested, tried, or convicted in connection with these incidents. It should be noted that these events constitute some of the largest and longest-running cases of extreme violence against animals in American history. In some instances, unmarked helicopters have also been reported flying over areas where mutilation incidents have occurred.
No, I do not believe they are searching for their next “victim”; rather, they are conducting their own investigations. I do not know who they are, and so far there has been no interaction between us. If at some point they need my assistance, all they need to do is ask. Many agencies have requested my help in their cases, and I always do what I can to assist. In every mutilation case I have investigated, the animal appears to have been taken from Location A, transported to Location B where the mutilation occurred, and then returned to Location C, which is near the original location. In each case, slightly different incision patterns have been observed, yet all share one common element: the complete draining of blood.
As for human mutilations, there have been one or two cases reported. The difficulty in investigating such cases, however, is significant, as they are considered unsolved homicides, and legal and privacy protections surrounding the families make involvement extremely difficult. Animal mutilation investigations rank among the most dangerous areas of my research. In these cases, we are dealing with tangible evidence—a dead animal. Who killed it? How did it die? And could the cause of death pose a risk to investigators? What happens if I reach the wrong conclusion in a mutilation case and the animal actually died from a virus? I myself could become infected and subsequently infect my family. Not just anyone can conduct this type of investigation. It requires extensive research, experience, and a great deal of caution.
The phenomenon of cattle mutilation is global. There are allegations that one of the reasons for this is the involvement of your Government in conducting experiments. The MK-Ultra and Artichoke programs are well known for experimenting on unsuspecting citizens under the orders of the Secret Service. What is the Government's role in this, when there are no incidents of human mutilation? And if they do experiment on animals, wouldn't they do it on their own premises, without having to leave any marks, instead of secretly taking some animals from farms and then returning their carcasses?

Very good question. I have seen some luminous spheres and a ship, which I believe belongs to us and is some kind of experimental model. I would like to share one of my most exciting experiences, but unfortunately I cannot discuss it as I am bound by the contracts regarding the book and the film. All I could say is that it is an extraordinary experience, which you will be able to read about in the book that will be released. And maybe, by the time it is released, I will experience something else, but no one knows. All these things are completely unpredictable.
Many researchers into UFOs and the paranormal in general have begun their research after some personal experiences. Have you seen or experienced any strange incidents, not exclusively related to amputations but in a broader context?

I have actually had no negative comments from my colleagues about this theory of mine. I have personally interviewed John Lear (Dulce Papers/Majestic 12) and researcher John Rhodes (Dulce Base) who agreed with me, as well as several other researchers who, like me, see a certain pattern. I have received hundreds of e-mails from viewers who saw this particular episode on the Discovery Channel and who agree with me, based on their personal observations.
How do other researchers react to your theory about the 37th Parallel? Do they welcome it or do they have objections and concerns about it?

What I really like about Greece and its association with the 37th Parallel is Athens. One of the oldest cities in the world, and monuments such as Athena Nike and Olympian Zeus, are located on the 37th Parallel. Athens is the heart of modern society, so why on the 37th? Coincidence? Quite possibly, but on the 37th Parallel is also one of the oldest monuments in the world, Gobekli Tepe, in Turkey. Did the first organized civilizations travel from east to west or vice versa regarding these locations? And to what destination? Was the famous Atlantis located east or west of Athens, on the 37th Parallel? One theory says that it was near Cadiz, Spain, with a latitude of 36.536123, -6.285938. Perhaps, during the creation of our modern societies, intelligent beings from other planets recorded these movements of ours, and had installed a “Paranormal Avenue”. It is just a thought… The number 37 presents a uniqueness. If multiplied by itself, the result is 1369. Something very interesting about the number 37 is this: the number divided by the sum always equals 37:

The 37th Parallel also runs through a large area of Greece, and that was perhaps the main reason we wanted this interview from you. The researchers here have not recorded any similar incident. Do you have any reports from other researchers regarding animal mutilations in Greece, and what is the frequency of this phenomenon?

Investigations are like house fires for firefighters. You never know when or where one will break out. Right now, I am organizing a survey to speak in person with eyewitnesses who saw some balls of light, and I plan to head to the Saint Louis Valley for some additional research. Regarding luminous spheres, I like to categorize them as follows: Orbs and Probes (luminous spheres – spots and detection devices or instruments). Orbs are mainly encountered in investigations related to ghosts and Probes in connection with UFO sightings. Orbs are reduced to something spiritual, Probes to something mechanical. Both release some form of electromagnetic energy which can be read by an EMF (electromagnetic field) meter. I have not detected or recorded any trace of radioactive radiation in my investigations related to Probes so far, but one must be careful. My team and I are also planning a trip to Roswell, New Mexico, in July to conduct some additional research into the 1947 incident. In addition, we are patiently waiting to see where and when the fire we were talking about will break out. Thank you very much.
