THE POSITION OF THE ERENZO ASSOCIATION

ERENZO considers the study of UAP not to be a matter of belief or sensationalism, but a field of interdisciplinary research based on verifiable data, archival consistency, and rigorous methodology. Clearly distinguishing serious research from undocumented narratives, arbitrary interpretations, and approaches lacking scientific scrutiny is critical to the credibility of the subject.

Greece should align itself with European practices of transparency. The creation of an independent UAP recording mechanism—even at a pilot, non-operational level and without any requirement for the disclosure of sensitive information—could make a substantial contribution to knowledge and to the reduction of misinformation.

ERENZO declares its willingness to contribute archival material, well-documented research, scientific collaboration, as well as human resources and technological means, within a future, institutionally established framework. This contribution may also take on an advisory or methodological role, with due respect for the discretion of the entities involved.

The present position concerns exclusively the public and scientific dimension of the subject.

The Position of ERENZO on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP / UFO)

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, formerly known as UFOs and today internationally referred to as UAP, constitute a field of observation that continues to generate both interest and confusion. ERENZO focuses exclusively on a calm, well-documented, and scientifically responsible approach to the subject, with a clear distinction between data recording, interpretation, and speculation.

THE GREEK REALITY

In Greece, there is no national, institutionally established, non-operational mechanism for the systematic recording and scientific evaluation of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, nor is there a unified, publicly known archive of this nature. This absence of a formal framework leads to the loss of archival data and to the degradation of serious testimonies.

ERENZO is already active, within the limits of its capabilities, in the direction of documented recording, employing an open scientific methodology and without involvement in matters of national security or classified content. A characteristic example is the Atalanti incident of 1990, which, despite extensive publicity and multiple eyewitness accounts, has not been incorporated into any unified, publicly known framework of comprehensive evaluation.

THE INTERNATIONAL PICTURE

In contrast to Greece, many countries have adopted institutional and scientific approaches to the recording and study of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, primarily of an archival and research-oriented nature.

  • France (GEIPAN, CNES): Operating since 1977, with a publicly accessible database.

  • United States (AARO / formerly AATIP / UAPTF): Examines UAPs within a framework of scientific analysis, with a clear separation from operational functions.

  • United Kingdom: Maintained an official office for the recording and study of UFO reports for decades.

At the same time, at the European level, transnational initiatives for data exchange and integration have been developed, involving national organizations and research bodies. ERENZO actively participates in one of these European databases, contributing to the archival recording and cross-referencing of reports within a scientific framework.
