UFOLOGY

_edited.jpg)
The department's main projects are the following:
- The maintenance and continuous updating of the electronic Ufological report database in the Greek area.
- The issuance of reports for specific time periods, e.g. 1822-2024, 2025-2026, etc.
- The writing of specific articles on the state of modern Ufology.
- Creation of educational Webinars on GRUFON projects or for specific books, in conjunction with the Library department.
- On-site investigations
Library
This department deals with the cataloguing of all Greek Ufological books and Ufological clippings.
It also maintains contacts with various foreign databases, where the interested party can find and download in pdf format, various Ufological publications and books.

FOR MEMBERS
Search for specific books and magazines in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
At this time, the main sources on the internet are three:
The Swedish site Archives for the Unexplained where books, magazines, and other related Ufological information are freely available.
Ignacio Collection
The defunct site of the great Spanish Ufologist Ignacio Darnaude Rojas Marcos . A copy of the material is available through the Internet Archives. The user can download various old magazines and books in pdf format.

Problems and Challenges
The sighting of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) remains a controversial yet popular topic. With the rapid increase in mobile phone use and the widespread use of the internet, more and more videos and photos of "UFO sightings" are circulating daily.
However, distinguishing authentic material from fabricated or misleading publications is a challenge. Distinguishing between real observations and fake news is crucial for research integrity, scientific study, and public information.

Misinformation
Advances in technology have made it very easy to create fake visual material, through video and image editing programs or even through artificial intelligence (AI).
So-called deepfakes can create realistic but fake videos that are difficult to distinguish from the real thing. The nature of the internet makes it easy for fake news to spread quickly, especially when it is sensational or frightening. Often, fake UFO videos are posted to gain traffic or to reinforce conspiracy theories. These videos are often played without critical thinking or source checking, creating a “disinformation bubble.”
Low Material Quality
One of the most common problems in UFO analyses is the low resolution of photos and videos.
Most incidents are recorded spontaneously, with low-quality portable devices or under poor lighting conditions.
This makes it difficult to clearly identify the object and leaves room for misinterpretation. Also, photo and video files are often not accompanied by metadata (such as date, time, location, camera type, etc.), which is crucial for confirming authenticity. Without this data, any check for possible tampering or connection to other events becomes extremely difficult.
Selective Analysis
Even when there are well-documented incidents, the analysis can be biased or superficial. Some researchers focus only on evidence that confirms the existence of aliens, while others dismiss anything that has no explanation as a hoax or a natural phenomenon. Objective analysis requires cross-checking data and the scientific method.
Many of the objects perceived as UFOs are actually airplanes, drones, balloons, or astronomical phenomena. Lack of knowledge about them easily leads to misinterpretations. Furthermore, human perception often "fills in" the blank of the picture with imagination or fear.

Science and Skepticism
The scientific community remains skeptical. Most researchers attribute the incidents to optical illusions, atmospheric phenomena or human error. However, some astrophysicists and experts argue that studying these phenomena can open new avenues in understanding technology and the universe.
Today, with official document revelations from government agencies and the interest of private research groups, ufology is back in the spotlight. The question remains: Is it a myth, a misinterpretation, or a reality that we are not yet ready to accept?
One of the key issues in Ufology concerns the exotic Physics that very often accompanies the Phenomenon. This excellent presentation by Ashton Forbes (with English subtitles) shows the evolution of our scientific thinking regarding the "ethereal" Zero Point Energy .
The presentation describes multiple scientific papers dealing not only with Zero Point Energy, but also with new propulsion techniques, teleportation, and other exotic topics that are currently considered science fiction by conventional science.
The purpose of this site is to gather as many incidents as possible, so that people who research these phenomena more systematically can be helped.
