Brief History

1st Witness

Livestock farmer T. Karatrantos reported that on the evening of September 2, 1990, he saw 12–14 luminous objects flying low and at high speed over his tent.

One of them returned, bursting into flames, and fell on an opposite hill, while the rest surrounded it as if to protect it.

The witness saw shadows of tiny creatures entering and exiting the luminous vessels, which were round in shape and about the size of tractors. He said they appeared to be trying to put out the fire by spraying some liquid that made red-black smoke.

2nd Witness

Ms. Karatrandou reported that around 9:30 p.m. she saw 13 luminous objects flying at great speed and with powerful headlights.

A short time later he heard three explosions and saw a bright red object fall and burn, emitting black smoke “like tires.” The remaining UFOs returned and surrounded it, forming a circle of light around it.

In the morning, the area was wet from some unknown liquid and there were traces on the ground in a circular arrangement, as well as accessories with strange symbols (a circle with lightning). The relative H. Giannoulakos handed over the findings to the Police, which were taken to Tanagra for examination.

Conclusion of the C.E.T.A.

The K.E.T.A. (CENTER FOR AVIATION TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH) examined the findings and published its report on 19/10/1990. According to it, the pieces found included:

  • Metal connectors, cables and steel hoops.

  • Materials of earthly origin, with familiar letters, numbers and technology.

K.E.T.A. report

  1. This is an earthen structure.

  2. It's old technology.

  3. It probably belongs to an old satellite mechanism.

  4. The satellite was of European or Soviet origin.

There is another testimony from the Atalanti region.

Early Monday morning (at 4:00 a.m.), shortly after the UFOs had left, 8 people who were fishing in 2 boats in northern Euboea, specifically 1.5 miles from the coast of the village of Chronia in Evia, i.e. opposite Atalanti, witnessed a luminous object.

As Ms. T. Panagopoulou told the writer, "at some point a light came on out of nowhere, over the hills, towards the village of Chronia. It came on from the inside outward. It emitted an intense whitish light. It was ellipsoidal in shape and the size (from the distance we were, about 2 miles) of a light bulb like those found on the pillars of avenues. Comparing it to the planes that passed by at intervals and seemed very small, this one must have been very large. It remained motionless for 10 minutes and was completely silent. As it came on, it went out, but this time from the outside inward, and disappeared. It made a terrible impression on us, because we had never seen anything like it. The next day we read in the newspapers about the incident in Atalanti, which took place very close to us, at about the same time."

The Atalanti incident is not only shocking, but also one of the rarest, if not unique, in world history. And it is certainly no coincidence that the well-known English magazine ALIEN, issue 5 November 1996, published this incident, but with incorrect data, possibly due to incorrect information, since it states that a crash occurred in Atalanti.
